Carol Sowers
Vice President of Public Affairs/Anchor


Carol Sowers has served as KHQA's Vice President of Public Affairs since May 2011, after more than 15 years as KHQA's news director.

A native of Clark County, Mo., Carol came to KHQA after graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism.

During her more than 25 years at KHQA, she has served as a reporter, and anchored a variety of newscasts. She continues to co-anchor KHQA's Evening News at 6, in addition to her management duties.

Carol has received numerous reporting and community service awards, including the Paul Clarkson Media Achievement Award from the Quincy Exchange Club, and was named a YWCA Woman of Achievement.

Carol and her husband, Mark, live in Quincy. She has three stepchildren: David and his wife, Alexandra; Alexander and Jane.
