Rajah Maples Reporter/Anchor/Producer
School: Stephens College, University of Missouri-Columbia
Rajah received her bachelor's degree in mass communication from Stephens College and her master's degree from the Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia. Rajah started out reporting as an intern at KHQA and later worked as a producer's assistant at the "The Today Show" and WNBC in New York City where she worked with Katie Couric and other news talent. She reported and anchored at KMIZ (ABC-17) in Columbia, Mo. in addition to more training at KOMU. Rajah also has served as news director of KWWC radio. She's received awards from the Iowa Broadcast News Association and appeared on CBS' "The Early Show" in June 2008 reporting on the Mississippi River flooding. Rajah covered presidential campaigns in Iowa in 2007, which included interviews with Hillary Rodham Clinton and vice president-elect Joe Biden. She's also covered other area dignitary visits, including President Barack Obama, Prince Albert of Monaco and Mike Huckabee to name a few. Rajah is a member of the Illinois News Broadcast Association, Iowa Broadcast News Association, the Mid-America chapter of the National Television Arts and Sciences, the International Radio and Television Society and has taught communication students at the college level.
