Another Quincy manufacturer recently made some layoffs.Quincy Compressor laid off about nine-and-a-half percent of its workforce earlier this month.
That amounted to 17 hourly and three salaried employees.

The good weather we've had in the past couple of weeks has been great news for dozens of workers in the Hannibal area.Continental Cement is calling back some of the workers laid off earlier this year sooner than expected.
Tom Beck, who is a senior vice president with the company, told me cement shipments have picked up recently.

An Adams County Board member has been arrested for stealing money.66-year-old John Hibbert of Paloma faces charges of taking more than 100 thousand dollars from the bank account of a 92-year-old county resident.
A special prosecutor from Springfield has been appointed to handle the case.

Former Quincy mayor Chuck Scholz is part of a group looking to make Illinois government more efficient.Executive News Director Carol Sowersspoke with him Friday morning as he was on his way to Springfield for a meeting of the Taxpayer Action Board.
Governor Pat Quinn set up that board and appointed Scholz to it.
