LA PLATA, MO. -- Three people were taken to the hospital with injuries following a Friday night crash involving an SUV and a minivan.

The collision took place at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Highway 63 at the North Junction in La Plata, Mo.

According to our sister station KTVO, the highway patrol says a minivan driven by Amie Myers, 28, of La Plata, failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 63 and Route D and drove into the side of an SUV driven by Faith Miller, 28, of Memphis, Mo.

Two passengers in the SUV, Clayton Miller, 29 and Merit Miller, 6, were taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.

Amie Myers also received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The southbound lanes of highway 63 were closed until emergency vehicles and the wreckage could be cleared from the highway.

Southbound traffic was routed through La Plata on Route D.
