Dr. Mervi Leyendeckers Dr. Mervi received her Doctorate of Optometry in 1991 form the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She is a member of the American Optometric Association. She has a heart for medical mission trips and have traveled to Mexico, Phillipines and Haiti. Dr. Mervi is the founder and owner of Broadway Vision Center and has been in solo practice since 1995 in Quincy. Stephanie Lawrence Licensed Optician since 2002. Amber Wheeler Amber has her Associates Degree from John Wood Community College. She is currently working on a medical office assistant certification.
Question Do you accept appointments on Saturday? Answer Yes! We are open the first and third Saturday of every month from 9am-2pm for you convenience! We are also open until 6:30pm every Wednesday to help around your busy schedule!

I am 54 years old, can I get contact lenses?
Answer There is no age limit. We have patients from 5 yrs to 76 years old with contact lenses. Question I have bifocals, can I get contact lenses? Answer Today's modern technology allows us to better fit bifocal contact lenses. And there are so many different brands now available so we can usually find a great lens just for you. Occasionally patients notice “softer” vision especially at distance with bifocal contact lenses.
Question I have dry eyes, can I wear contact lenses? Answer Dry eyes are very common and need to be treated aggressively otherwise complications will occur especially if contact lens wearer. All patients at BVC are checked for dry eyes, and if severe medications are prescribed like Restasis or Freshkote. Nowadays we do have great contact lenses for dry eye patients like Acuvue Oasys. Some patients may just need specialty lenses for their dry eye syndrome, some may need specialty lenses along with prescription meds or lubricating drops daily.
Question Do you accept vision insurances? Answer Absolutely! Please let our staff know about your insurance benefits when making an appointment. If you have an insurance listed above our staff will collect any applicable co-payments and charges for non-covered services from you at the time of services. Please be aware that payment from your insurance company cannot be guaranteed, and benefits are not determined until your claim is processed.
Question If I am interested in Laser Vision Correction can you help me? Answer Yes! Broadway Vision Center is affiliated with TLC Laser Center Eye Centers. Dr. Leyendeckers will perform all pre and post exams here in Quincy and the surgery will be performed in TLC in St. Louis.
Question How long is my prescription good for? Answer
By law, your contact lens prescription is good for 1 year and eyeglass prescription for 2 years.
Question Can I get sunglasses in my prescription? Answer Yes! We have a large selection of name brand sunglasses for you to choose from such as Ray Bans that we can make for your exact prescription whether it be single vision or bifocal.
