Business Type: Jewelry

At Ava Goldworks, jewelry is the work of craftsmen. This simple distinction is a guiding principle. Ava Originals emerge from the discerning eyes and hands of individuals who love their craft. The finest gemstones are hand-picked with care--designs are drawn up--and gold, platinum, or palladium are transformed through heat and skill into rings, bracelets, and more.

The father-daughter team of Randall and Brandy Hurt are continuing a tradition of fine craftsmanship begun over 35 years ago--when father Randall began his apprenticeship to three bench jewelers who had themselves learned by apprenticeship. Now a JA Certified Master Bench Jeweler, Randall uses this experience to create his and daughter Brandy's designs.

Meet the Team
Brandy Hurt
Brandy has continued the family tradition as a jewelry designer, winning her first design awards in 2005 at the age of 19. In 2007, she won the coveted Spectrum Award, an international competition regarded as the most respected in the industry. Together, Randy and Brandy have won 25 design awards since opening in December of 2004.
Debbie Hurt
Debbie Hurt has been employed in the jewelry industry for over 15 years and brings a different set of skills to the business. Her upper management skills, business knowledge as well as her experience in many facets of the jewelry industry is an asset to the family owned business.
Randall Hurt
Randall started his career as an apprentice, learning the many facets of creating jewelry the time honored way. He used that knowledge as he started his career, working for jewelry stores across the nation as their bench jeweler. In 2000, he passed the rigorous 36 hour practical and written test to become a Jewelers of America Certified Master Bench Jeweler. The numbers have grown since his inception, but there are still only 119 in the nation who have passed this exam. After more than 30 years of creating jewelry for employers, Randy, his wife Debbie and their daughter Brandy decided to open a goldsmithing gallery of their own.
