QUINCY, ILL. -- Support for a local child fighting liver cancer continues to pour in around Quincy.

Family members and friends of Jackson's helped put together a fundraiser for Jackson Saturday night at the Knights of Columbus in Quincy.

Three-year-old Jackson Weppler has stage three liver cancer.

According to Jackson's father Patrick Weppler, Jackson was put on top of a donor waiting list for a new liver in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.

On Monday, Jackson and his family went to Pittsburgh after hearing word of a possible transplant.

When they arrived, the received news that the liver was damaged.

Patrick and his wife, Leila Weppler say that Jackson has been in high spirits.

"Hopefully, the call will come and this time it will be perfect for him and it will actually happen," Leila said.

Saturday's event has a live auction, silent auction, as well as a raffle to raise money. Items in the auction were donated locally.

Funds made at the event help pay for the family's everyday needs while they focus on getting Jackson healthy again.
