Six-year sentence in McDonough County firearm theft

A federal judge sentenced a man charged in a 2012 McDonough County firearm robbery and high-speed pursuit.

Christopher Bigsby, 35, of Macomb was sentenced to 77 months in federal prison.

Bigsby was arrested in June 2012 after a burglary in rural Macomb. Bigsby stole several firearms and led police on a pursuit throughout McDonough County.

He was indicted on federal charges of felon in possession of firearms as part of Operation Sheep Dog. The law enforcement initiative targeted violent and habitual felony offenders.
