On Saturday, the one-hour episode of 48 Hours titled “Honor and Dishonor,” will examine the September 11, 2007, shooting deaths of Karen Comer and Tracy Burke and the prosecution of Sgt. Brent Burke that followed.

Burke, a native of Ursa, Ill., was found guilty of the murder of his estranged wife Tracy and her former mother-in-law Karen in a military trial in May of 2012.

He was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole by the military court for the double murder.

A military panel of seven officers returned the verdict Tuesday, May 8th after deliberating for nearly three hours.

The military trial followed three mistrials and a hung jury in a fourth trial.

Burke's own son and stepson testified against him in the trial, however, forensic experts testified they could find no DNA evidence linking the Fort Campbell soldier to the scene of the shooting.

Click here to listen to the 911 call made by the 9-year-old at around noon the day after the shooting occurred. He told authorities he was too scared to call 911 at the time of the shooting.

Make sure you tune in Saturday, February 16 at 9 p.m. on KHQA CBS.
