QUINCY, ILL. --

Quincy police arrested a 13-year-old student from Quincy Junior High after a fight on school property.

Police report one 13-year-old male used a combination lock to strike another 13-year-old male.

Police say this was a retaliation from an incident that had taken place outside of school.

The victim was treated at Blessing Hospital for an injury to his head.

Police arrested the other student for aggravated battery. He was released to his parent.

Quincy Public School Interim Superintendent Cal Lee told KHQA, "I wasn't there, but I know there was an incident. It depends on the severity. There are certain levels of severity depending on the incident. Based on what I heard they handled it appropriately."
