QUINCY, ILL. -- The United Way of Adams County says 22 agencies will share nearly $788,000 in allocations from this year's campaign. That's a 3% increase of what was allocated last year.
The goal for this year's campaign was $1.1 million dollars.
The organization ended up raising $1.3 million dollars.
38 volunteers spent about ten weeks analyzing member agencies and studying requests from those agencies to determine how the money would be divided.
Shelley Miller is a board member for the United Way and is also on the committee that talked with member agencies about their requests.
Some agencies got more then what they requested, while other member agencies didn't get as much.
"And that's part of the decision that the teams made. They do take that into consideration of how is this going to impact the delivery of services and if there is a shortage of funds. You know agencies do have a backup plan for that," Miller said.
