QUINCY, IL. -- Unity of Quincy and the Quincy Exchange Club are giving you the chance to make a difference in the lives of your friends and neighbors.

For the last few years the Unity Church has hosted what it call an Abundance Exchange.

Simply put, it is a chance for people to get rid of household items that are still in good condition like appliances, furniture and toys.

The items will then be given away on a first come, first serve basis this Saturday.

Tonight the Granite Gallery hosted a special collection night as a part of its Late Night at the Gallery event.

Unity board president Bert McAlonan had a hard time expressing what being a part of this Exchange means to her.

McAlonan says, "Oh, it's just unreal ! There's just so many stories  and so much gratitude. Grandmas and Grandpas have been able to provide Christmas gifts for their little ones. And young moms and dads that are just starting households, that don't have anything come in and say, " Oh man, there's a refrigerator ! That's just what I was looking for."

If you didn't get a chance to make it in tonight with a donation don't worry, you can drop off your donations tomorrow at the south entrance to the Oakley Lindsay Center from 7am to 7pm.

The only clothing that will be accepted is outerwear like coats, gloves and hats.

Then the actual exchange will take place on Saturday, December 8th from 8:30am to 1pm at the Oakley Lindsay Center.
