PAYSON, ILL. -- Hundreds of messages continue to flood the Easton Superman Zanger Facebook page, all expressing words of love, comfort and sorrow for 2-year-old Easton Zanger and his family.

A family friend confirmed Easton died Saturday afternoon after spending weeks in a medically induced coma at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

His family will host a celebration in honor of his life on Dec. 16, at the Ambiance in Quincy.

Easton, known to the Payson and Quincy communities as their "Super E-man," suffered from lengthy seizures, an illness that mystified his doctors.

You can watch this video posted by his family last December, entitled Easton's Journey.

Area communities came together many times during the last year and a half bringing support, both emotionally and financially to the Zanger family. Just last weekend, hundreds of people sported the "Super E-man" t-shirts and attended a fundraiser at the Payson Park View Restaurant.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
