FORT MADISON, IOWA -- It has been a part of the Fort Madison riverfront for the past 100 years and this week, the Lee County Historical Society is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the old Santa Fe railroad depot in Riverview Park.

The original depot burned down in a fire and when this one was built, it only cost $14,000.

Within the next year, the old depot is going to be getting more use then just a stop for historical society.

The city has worked with Amtrak to turn the old depot into the main train station for passengers who get on and off the train in the Pen City.
