QUINCY, ILL. -- Money from the sale of the house at 701 Lind, built by the Home Builders Association of Quincy, will benefit six area organizations.

Judy Fretwell, an executive officer with HBAQ, says, "We are thrilled our charity house will benefit the community".

The house sold for $50,000 and the proceeds will be used for several charitable organizations in the area.

The HBAQ will give $5,000 each to Habitat for Hummanity and Camp Callahan, $3,000 to GREDF, and $2,500 each to Madonna House and Quanada.

The organization had planned to present checks at it's meeting Thursday, January 20, 2011, but that meeting was cancelled due to weather.

Money from the sale was set aside for future project to benefit the community.

The organization hasn't decided what project to do next.
