Completed project came in more than $50,000 under budget
The recently completed Lee County Jail project came in about $58,000 under budget.
The two-phase project began back in 2008.
A new jail was built first and the rennovating the old building was the second phase.
The project was originally thought to cost just under $6 million, but a consulting firm was able to keep costs down, that's according to Lee County Board of Supervisors member Ernie Schiller.
KHQA's Jim Whitfield will have more on this story tonight at 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00.
