QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy City Council is hoping to bring new life to a neighborhood eyesore with the sale of a fix-or-flatten property.

Last night Aldermen agreed to sell a run-down property at 535 Lind

to developer Tonia Asher-Hemming for 500 dollars.

Asher-Hemming plans to convert the existing building into a four-unit apartment building.

Two ordinances were adopted on third readings. The 2011 Fiscal Year Budget was amended to include an increase in the airport hangar fund (#513 capital outlay-buildings) by $210,000 and dept. service - loan payments by $38,325. The other ordinance had to do with amending a portion of the City code dealing with the zoning of landmarks and historic districts to add 1845 Jersey, 200 Chestnut, 1401 North Eighth and 813 South 15th.
