QUINCY, ILL. -- UPDATE 1/9/12

Monday night  the Quincy Park Board voted to officially accept the resignation letter from Executive Director Dan Gibble.

Gibble announced last week that he was leaving the post.

WTAD reports that current administrative assistant Vicky Egbert will take over part of his duties as park board secretary.

The Park Board discussed in closed session appointing an interim director but no official action was taken.

The Board will meet again this Wednesday where a possible decision on a replacement is expected.

The Quincy Park District will soon be looking for someone to lead the organization.

Executive Director Dan Gibble has turned in his resignation.

In his resignation letter, he says he needs to move closer to the Chicago area where his parents live.

His last day on the job will be February fourth.

Gibble came to the Park District two and a half years ago.
