KEOKUK, IOWA -- The Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce has been notified multiple times about a continuing phone scam.

The person receives a call stating that they have already signed up for "a program," and the caller needs approval for the second year of the program.

The caller then says they want the person's vocal approval and then record it for confirmation.

In almost every case, there was no past inclusion in "the program," and the caller merely wanted the person's recorded approval to begin billing.

Be advised that the caller will call multiple times hoping to get someone on tape to approve this effort.

Area residents are advised to be aware and ask questions.
