HANNIBAL, MO. -- The Farmer¹s Market in Hannibal will put down roots in a new location this year.

According to the Hannibal Courier Post, the city council approved allowing the market to operate on North Main Street this year.

This after the number of vendors have declined in recent years at Central Park.

The market kicks off the season Saturday, May 19 at 214 N. Main St.

During Tuesday night's meeting at city hall, representatives of the Historic Hannibal Marketing Council (HHMC) outlined their plans for the market.

The location at 214 North Main St. consists of a gravel parking lot and a portion of a concrete patio located behind a wrought iron fence. The site is owned by Kevin Kerley, a member of the HHMC, who will receive no compensation for the lot's use, according to the proposal.
