One in six Americans face hunger.

Together, the United Way of Adams County and the U.S. Postal Service want to bring down that number. The group held its 20th annual Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive Saturday.

Letter carriers picked up food left at mailboxes throughout the day. The goal for the city of Quincy was 30 boxes of food, adding up to almost 900 pounds, all of which will benefit local food pantries.

Monday, the pantries will get their share of food to take back to families in need.

The Stamp Out Hunger program has collected more than one billion pounds of food in the last two decades.
