MACOMB, ILL. -- Teachers across Western Illinois protested proposed changes to their pension plans Wednesday.

A rally was held outside of Senator John Sullivan's Quincy office.

Meanwhile educators in Macomb met at Chandler Park Wednesday, according to Tri-State Public Radio.

Four hundred participants signed petitions against the changes. They say they're concerned teachers haven't seen the proposal. Educators say they want to be involved in the process.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has proposed shifting much of the state's pension burden onto local governments and system participants. He also wants reductions in benefits.
