Update: Canton homes without power

CANTON, MO. -- UPDATED: May 31 at 5:09 p.m.

KHQA just spoke with Ameren Missouri officials who say that power should be restored to all Canton residents within the hour.

A squirrel got caught in one of the feeder lines and it took awhile to get everything back up and running.

1,287 customers were affected.

Ameren Missouri crews are working to bring back power to more than one thousand homes and businesses in the Canton, Missouri area Thursday.

Ameren has not released the cause of the outage at this time.

No major damage or injuries have been reported.
