KEOKUK, IOWA -- A Keokuk grandfather is now playing "mom" to a baby fawn.

Check out this story in the Daily Gate City.

Jim Wilsey of Keokuk was standing in his driveway when a little fawn ran right up to him.  The baby was brand new - with an umbilical cord still attached and dragging.

He searched the area for the baby's mother with no luck.

Now he's playing mom to the baby fawn, feeding it goat's milk with a baby bottle.

After serving as a surrogate mother, Wilsey took the fawn Penny to an animal rescuer until she can be turned out into the wild.
