QUINCY, ILL. -- Some local Boy Scouts have something to be proud of.

They have recently completed their Eagle Scout Project.

A new flag pole, bench, memorial and garden are now a part of the Quincy Humane Society front lawn.

The memorial stone features a rescue dog from September 11th.

Quincy Humane Society Executive Director Sally Westerhoff says it's a great addition to the property.

"I think it's just a reflection of the role that animals play in our lives, not only as our companions but in a time of need such as this. They play such a significant role," Westerhoff said.

The flag pole has been there a few months, but with the bench and stone, the project is now complete.

Westerhoff also says there are several flags, aside from the American Flag, that they can fly.
