Loebsack and Archer take home primary wins in Iowa

LEE COUNTY, IOWA -- Tuesday's primary race in Iowa was full of clear victories and tight races.

U.S. Representative Dave Loebsack was the decisive winner against his challenger for District 2.

Democrat Loebsack jumped to the lead early and stayed there ending the night with 1, 494 votes over his competition Joe Seng who only came away with 196 votes.

The race was tighter for the Republican nomination.

Bettendorf lawyer John Archer took home the win with 284 votes over his competition, Muscatine home builder Dan Dolan who had 232 votes.

Loebsack and Archer will face each other in November.
