QUINCY, ILL. -- A group of patriotic women are working to make a difference for veterans in our area.

The Marine Corp League Auxiliary raises money to support the Marine Corp League as well as donate to the Honor Flight.

Saturday, those women were preparing people for Flag Day this Thursday.

Volunteers were stationed at Kmart and County Market at 48th and Broadway in Quincy on Saturday.

Everyone who came through got a miniature American flag and a chance to donate to support their cause.

"All our endeavors and efforts are for the benefit of our veterans and so we really appreciate the support that our local community provides us in order to assist us in achieving our goals of assisting our veterans," Dona Reinertsen, President of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary said.

The Auxiliary will be holding a fundraiser grill next weekend on June 16th at the County Market on Spring and  24th streets.
