LOUISIANA, MO. -- The story of a Louisiana, Missouri girl kidnapped from her front yard and found at a car wash a day later will be featured on the Biography Channel Monday, June 18.

According to the show's site, Elizabeth Smart will host a new show called, "Taken." Smart takes a "heart-stopping look at parents who have found themselves in the terrifying position of searching for a missing child; Told through candid interviews with family members, eyewitnesses and police investigators."

A segment of the show will include interviews with Maier's family as well as an FBI agent on the case, Special Agent Dan Netemeyer, who supervised the Violent Crime/Crimes Against Children/Organized Crime squad during the Maier case.

Maier was kidnapped on July 5, 2010. She was found safe at a Fenton, Mo. car wash almost 26 hours later, more than 80 miles from home. KMOX News Radio in St. Louis recently spoke to Netemyer. He said he "believes that kidnapper Paul Smith, who had been a convicted sex offender, felt so much pressure from law enforcement alerts and media coverage of the abduction that he was compelled to drop her off safely outside a carwash ... where she was found by Good Samaritans who immediately contacted law enforcement."

Smith took his own life after a confrontation with police in Lincoln County the day after she was found.

Taken airs Monday at 9 p.m. on The Biography Channel.
