CANTON, MO. -- A former Culver Stockton College employee accused of stealing money from the school was sentenced to five years probation Thursday.

James Crenshaw of Canton was charged in November with one count of felony stealing. A judge also ordered him to pay $35,000 in restitution.

Crenshaw was accused of using a school credit card to buying things for himself over the course of several years.

Crenshaw was also a former alderman for the city of Canton, Mo. He lost his seat in the April election.
