KEOKUK, IOWA -- A Keokuk theater group has a new place to call home Thursday morning.

According to the Keokuk Daily Gate City, the Great River Players purchased a former bowling alley-turned-warehouse at Sixth and Johnson streets.

The 10 thousand square foot facility will now house rehearsals, costume storage and props.

In the past, the Players rented space in the River City Mall, but decided to move on after a fire in the mall caused smoke and water damage to its facility. They lost most of their costumes and props during that fire

The fire began in a quilt store at the River City Mall in February 2011. Click here to read more about that fire.
