Second "first time" endorsement for Nixon
MISSOURI (AP) -- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has received a historic endorsement.
The Missouri Corn Growers Association has thrown its support behind Nixon's re-election campaign.
This is the first time the group has ever supported a gubernatorial candidate.
The group says it decided to make this historic move because of Nixon's ongoing support for agriculture growth in the state.
Nixon has been a strong proponent of expanding into the global market.
But this is not the first historic endorsement that Nixon has received.
The Missouri Soybean Association threw its first time support behind Nixon earlier this summer.
