QUINCY, ILL. -- Nursing is a challenging, high demand field.

To make the transition easier for aspiring nurses at John Wood Community College, the school is holding a week long nurses boot camp.

All this week more than 30 nursing students are learning the nuts and bolts of nursing from experts in the filed.

The goal is to reduce the stress on the students and increase their chances of success in the field.

"There's a lot of information, very little time that you have to obtain it and be able to apply it. And so having a class like this give the students the tools that they need so that they can be successful in the nursing program," John Wood nursing instructor Holly VanderBol said.

Besides medical professionals, the students also get to hear from experts on budgeting, scholarships and testing and study techniques.
