FORT MADISON, IOWA -- Two corrections officers at the Clinical Care Unit at the Fort Madison prison are recovering from some injuries after being attacked by an inmate.

Officials say 23-year-old Bradley Woods attacked officers Wednesday morning in the recreation area of the pod.

Woods stabbed one officer in the back with a pencil when he tried to stop a dispute between inmates and put him in restraints.

He is serving a 22-year sentence for multiple counts of first-degree robbery.
