QUINCY, ILL. -- Before you head out to enjoy the nice weather Sunday afternoon, be sure you set out any extra or unwanted non-perishable food items.

Quincy University's 3rd annual QU Cares Food Drive will be held Sunday night from 6 to 9 p.m. during the university's Welcome Week.

Students will visit neighborhoods from 14th to 30th Streets and Locust to State Streets to collect food donations for area food banks.

The food drive will support Quincy Catholic CharitiesHorizonsQuanadaSt. Francis Solanus Parish, and St. John's Lutheran Church.

Any member of the Quincy community who would like to donate food, but who is not located in the neighborhoods being visited, can drop off donations between 6 and 9 at the Hall of Fame Room located in the QU Health and Fitness Center at 18th and Oak.

The goal for this year's drive is to surpass 5 thousand pounds of food.
