Bethel man charged with sex involving a minor

SHELBY COUNTY, MO. -- A Shelby County man is behind bars after his arrest on charges that say he had sex with a minor.

David Durk, 54, of Bethel, Mo., is charged with first-degree statutory rape.

He's accused of having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14, according to the Shelby County Prosecutor Jordan Force.

Durk is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $50,000 cash only bond.

His next court date is set for September 14 in Shelby County Circuit Court.
