NORTHEAST MISSOURI -- Some northeast Missouri residents have a new resource to help them realize their dream of owning their own home.

The Northeast Community Action Corporation or NECAC has teamed up with Next Step's home-ownership program based out of Kentucky.

There are no income guidelines for the program.

The homes range from about one thousand to 15-hundred square feet and come with major appliances furnished.

The price range for the homes is estimated at $40,000 to $55,000.

"The need is tremendous right now," NECAC spokesman Brent Engel said. "We all know the housing crisis of the last few years is continuing. It's easing up somewhat. But we know that there are families out there who would love to own a home and just can't afford it right now."

For more information about an application, call (573) 324-6655 or visit one of NECAC's service centers.
