QUINCY, ILL. -- In a short session of the Quincy city council, the members approved the purchase of several new vehicles for the Quincy Police Department.

The department will get two new interceptors and one new pursuit vehicle at a cost of more than 72 thousand dollars.

Because Chevy has stopped making police ready Impala's, these new vehicles will be tested out by officers before a final decision is made on which one will become the primary vehicle for the department.

The department isn't sure when the new vehicles will actually be street ready, but would like to see that happen within the next few months.
