The American Cancer Society needs you to help stop a deadly disease.

The organization is recruiting 300,000 people across the United States and Puerto Rico to help researchers better understand the lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer.

You're eligible to sign up for the prevention study if you're willing to make a long-term commitment by completing surveys at home every few years; are between 30 and 65 years old and have never been diagnosed with cancer (not including basal or squamous cell skin cancer).

Three hundred partipants are needed in the Tri-State area.

Sign up sessions will take place:

November 3 at the Barry YMCA,  10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

November 6 at the Mt. Sterling YMCA,  4 p.m. – 8 p.m

November 7,  4 – 8 p.m. and November 8, 7 - 11 a.m.  at the Quincy YMCA

For more information or to make an appointment, visit www.cps3westcentral.com, call Stephen Hunt at 1-888-604-5888 or e-mail Stephen.hunt@cancer.org.
