A farm accident in rural McDonough County claimed the life of a Tennessee, Ill. man.

According to the McDonough County Corner, Anthony E. Williams, 36, was killed Tuesday afternoon when the utility pole he was working on broke, causing the ladder he was on to give way.

Williams was working for Al Cook on a farm lot in Adair when the accident took place. At the time of the accident, Williams was attempting to rerun electric wire to a new utility pole.

The 911 call came in at 1:47 p.m.

Williams was pronounced dead at McDonough Area District Hospital in Macomb at 2:11 p.m.
