QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy man is in jail after police found him in an alley Wednesday morning allegedly in possession of a loaded gun.

The Quincy Police Department said that a call directed them to the area of the 900 block of State Street where a man was seen with a gun.

Joshua T. Coonrod, 26, was arrested in the alley between 9th and 10th from State Street to Ohio.

Police say he was in possession of a loaded small caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Coonrod was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon and was lodged in the Adams County Jail.
