QUINCY, ILL. -- There's a place in Quincy that creates one of a kind dishes.

From pulled pork and ribs to brisket with a homemade rub, Fatback's Smokin' Racks has become a familiar name to those who crave good barbeque.

When you walk into this barbeque joint, there's a chance you'll meet the entire Fatback's family.

"I have my mother at the counter, my sisters and brother-in-law and, of course, my wife and all of my kids work here," Donnie Osborne said.

Donnie and his wife, Princess, opened up shop in June after receiving high honors in BBQ contests all across the Tri-States.

As for the name, Fatbacks ..."That was my nickname for when I was a kid," Donnie said.

The southern flare on the walls and the blues music in the background will draw you into this family-owned restaurant. It's what they're cooking that will have you coming back for more.

"It's my favorite place for sure. I think they have the best ribs in town," Brian Entrup, a fan of Fatback's said.

There's a variety of homemade specialties on the menu, including barbequed spaghetti.

"Our background is Memphis style, so that's what we do. Our spaghetti sauce is made here. It's our own barbeque sauce. We have our brisket fresh off the smoker. I'll just chop it up and I'll actually serve the brisket in the spaghetti. It gives it a unique flavor," Donnie said.

"I like the collared greens a lot and the ribs. This is the first time I've had the brisket and it's really good," Entrup said.

But it's Fatbacks' signature sandwich that gets rave reviews.

"You can see that smoke ring in that pork. We come back with our special rub that we make here in house and add just a little bit of sauce in there, just for a little bit of flavor. And then we add our homemade cole slaw on top. Serve it with our homemade baked beans and you are good to go," Donnie said.

You can eat in or take out at the 24th and Lind St. restaurant in Quincy.

Fatback's is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m.  to 7:30 p.m and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
