MACOMB, ILL. -- The Macomb School district has a new superintendent.

On Wednesday night the school board officially confirmed that Patrick Mark Twomey will take over the top job in the district.

Twomey comes to Macomb after serving as the superintendent in Havana for 6 years.

But he is no stranger to the community.

Twomey previously served the school district in several positions including as a principal at Macomb High School and as a 6th grade teacher.

Twomey will get paid $179,000 per year.

He officially takes over as superintendent on July 1st, when current superintendent Alene Reuschel retires.

Until then he will serve as assistant superintendent of the district starting on May 1st.
