KANKAKEE, ILL. -- Police located the 1-year-old boy who authorities say was taken by his father from a hospital in northeastern Illinois.
The Endangered Missing Person Advisory was canceled Tuesday, March 5. It was issued for Artistic Fletcher last Friday.
Kankakee Police say the Department of Children and Family Services took the infant to Presence St. Mary's Hospital, in Kankakee, on Wednesday after bruises were found on his lower back, upper thighs and upper arm area.
The (Kankakee) Daily Journal reports the Fletchers initially called police that night, claiming the bruises on their son's body occurred at a local daycare, but the daycare's owner says only a diaper rash was found on the boy during his stay at the facility that day.
The journal reports the child's father, Arthur Fletcher, later took the child from the hospital, prompting DCFS to obtain a juvenile warrant. Police said last week that they will allow the agency to take immediate custody of the Artistic and his 7-year-old and 5-year-old brothers when they are found.
