KEOKUK, IOWA -- The Keokuk Fire Department is investigating what they call a suspicious fire Tuesday night.

Firefighters were called to an abandoned home at 1417 Franklin Street around 9:30 Tuesday night to find the fire confined to the rear of the building. 

Electricity was not on in the house at the time of the fire.

Firefighters will be on the scene later this morning working with police to determine the exact cause of the fire.
