TRI-STATE AREA -- Tax week doesn’t seem to be offering us a very good return – at least meteorologically speaking! Some showers and thunderstorms will develop throughout the day on Tuesday, and a few severe storms are possible in the far southeast late in the day – although most of the severe weather with tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail will be southeast of the Tri-State region. A frontal boundary associated with the storm complex will cause temperatures to vary substantially on Tuesday. In the northern half of the viewing area, high temperatures will only be in the 50s, but in the southern half, highs will likely reach into the 60s.

Wednesday and Thursday will then be cooler behind the cold front – in the upper 40s to lower 50s in most spots for afternoon highs. Lows will be in the 30s and 40s again!

Another major storm will target the Midwest by late Thursday night all the way through Friday evening, and severe weather in the Tri-States will certainly be a possibility by Friday afternoon and evening. Temperatures will turn milder again from Friday into the weekend – 60s should be common each afternoon. Saturday should provide us with a brief break in an otherwise active weather cycle before rain and thunderstorm chances head our way once again for Easter Sunday and Monday.
