INTERVIEWS WITH KHQA
Reporter Melissa Shriver interviewed the nine candidates running for positions on the Quincy School Board (four will be elected in Tuesday's election). Each of the candidates was asked the same exact questions:
1. Why do you believe you should be elected to the Quincy School Board?
2. What do you believe your most valuable contribution to the board could be?
3. What is the biggest challenge facing the Quincy Public School district--and how would you solve it?
4. What would you look for in a new school superintendent, which this board will hire to replace Tom Leahy when he retires?
5. Four candidates were endorsed by the Kids First Coalition (Vicki Blackwell, Tom Dickerson, Curtis Lovelace and Connie Taylor) while the other five (Glenn Bemis, Chris Bunch, Denette Kuhlman, Jeff Mays and Otis Pleasant) were not. We each candidate why they believe they were (or were not) endorsed.
We present the candidates and their responses to those quesstions (click on candidate's name to hear responses).
