Cause of lumber yard fire revealed

Beardstown Fire Chief Darin Paul says his department believes the fire began sometime around 7:45 a.m. after employees had finished using a cutting torch to remove steam pipes within the building. He says more than likely, something sparked onto nearby wood framing and began smoldering before the fire erupted.

Two people killed in Sunday morning fire outside of Beardstown

An early morning residential fire in Beardstown claimed the lives of a father and daughter Sunday. Firefighters found the bodies of Henry "Bud" Krohe, 68, and his daughter, Jeanette Krohe, 29, a mother of four boys, all of whom were not home at the time of the fire.

The police chief there, Tom Schlueter, told KHQA the Illinois state crime lab is now looking at evidence to try to figure out what started that fire at Shane Lisenbee's home.Lisenbee and his wife weren't home at the time, both of them are in jail on sexual assault charges.
