    Thursday, November 20, 2008  Three thousand of the Illinois National Guard's 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team are heading to Afghanistan by the end of this month. Right now they're training in Fort Bragg, North Carolina preparing for their mission to train and mentor Afghan security forces as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.  While they're not training, they're back at camp.  KHQA's Melissa Shriver found out how they spend their time and how it brings them together.

Officials say that training is always evolving as information is gathered, as does the gear they use to stay safe.

    Tuesday, November 18, 2008  A Quincy resident and citizen soldier with the Illinois National Guard leads three thousand citizen soldiers from across Illinois who are preparing to deploy to Afghanistan with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team. These soldiers make up the largest overseas deployment of Illinois National Guardsmen and women since World War Two.

    Monday, November 17, 2008  The State of Illinois is in the midst of its largest overseas deployment of Illinois National Guardsmen and women since World War two. Right now about 3000 citizen soldiers from 30 units across the state including here in the Tri-States are preparing for deployment to Afghanistan as part of the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
