The Quincy Humane Society is back to full operations after a recent case of canine distemper virus.
Distemper is an incurable, often fatal canine disease that affects respiratory, gastrointestinal and central nervous systems. The virus entered the shelter through a litter of puppies from Knox City, Missouri in late February.
You might recall earlier this month, the humane society put a hold on accepting and adopting out puppies and dogs until its risk assessments were complete.
