What do you get from dancing, potatoes, and a lot of Warsteiner?

Thousands of dollars for the local Arthritis Foundation.

It was all part of Germanfest 2008, complete with lots of German food, music by the Heidleburg band, and drinks at Quincy's South Park.

The event is a Quincy tradition to celebrate the rich German heritage of the area, but you didn't have to be German to have a great time.

More than 2,000 people danced to the funky chicken and other more traditional German songs like "She's to Fat for Me".

The events three main sponsors, Hy-vee, Refreshment Services Pepsi, and Mississippi Belle Distributing, cover most of the costs.
